Youghal

Minister Heather Humphries officially opened the extended Youghal Boardwalk. With her is the Mayor of County Cork, Mary Linehan Foley, and also Tim Lucey, Chief Executive of Cork County Council.
The Boardwalk now stretches from the Front Strand, past Claycastle, and over to the Redbarn Strand. Users of the Boardwalk will catch glimpses of the old medieval road on the section near Redbarn.&nbsp;

Both Claycastle Beach and Redbarn were recently named Blue Flag beaches for 2021. The new, 7km boardwalk is a stunning addition to both beaches, allowing locals and visitors alike to fully appreciate Youghal's sweeping coastal views.&nbsp;&nbsp;
The Boardwalk extension was facilitated by Stage 2 of the Department of Rural and Community Development’s Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme.
