Our passion starts with the bean when we select some of the highest quality crops, sourced directly from sustainable small coffee farms around the world, essentially wherever quality beans are produced.
Boardwalk Coffee is roasted in small batches in the Heritage Town of Youghal, where past meets present, a modern seaside resort with two fabulous boardwalks and one of the best examples of a Norman walled port in Ireland today.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Our beans are harvested by selective picking which is done by hand when the cherries containing green beans are ripe. The pickers are given a coloured wrist band to match up the correct level of ripeness.
Our beans are stored at controlled temperature and humidity until they hit the inside of the 200 degrees plus roasters.&nbsp;
Let us take you on an interesting journey in time – from our Viking founders down through the various eras that formed Youghal and bestowed us this unique heritage that is ours to cherish and savour to-day.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
We will introduce you to our Natural Heritage – landscapes and our flora &amp; fauna. We will share our charming Cultural Heritage with you and our marvellous musical and folklore traditions. Youghal’s Heritage is testament to the genius of those gone before us – the legacy of which we see in our magnificent stock of ancient preserved and Protected Structures buildings.
