SONAS PLAY THERAPY

Sonas Play Therapy is a private play therapy practice accepting referrals from parents, teachers, GPs, social workers and community based projects. The practice offers a number of services including one to one play therapy sessions for children, group play therapy sessions, and workshops for children in the areas of anxiety, self-esteem and social skills. Sonas Play Therapy works in local schools helping to promote well-being for children and tailoring workshops to suit their needs. Edel Ahern is the practice manager with 15 years’ experience as a primary school teacher working with children. She has a postgraduate certificate and diploma from NUI Galway in practice based play therapy and is a registered therapist with Play Therapy Ireland. Edel is fully insured, first-aid compliant and has Gárda vetting. Edel practices Child Centred Play Therapy which is based on the belief that all children have the inner drive to heal through the process of non-directive play therapy.
