Dacha Holiday Home is a light and airy holiday accommodation set in the most scenic location over looking Ardmore Bay in County Waterford. From its elevated position you and your guests are treated to spectacular sea views from this pretty holiday home located in Ireland’s Ancient East. This seaside holiday home is a short stroll from the picturesque village of Ardmore, a pretty fishing village in the south of Ireland. This fishing village has a selection of beautiful golden sand beaches, grocery shops, beautiful craft shops, art galleries, bars and restaurants all within easy reach from your coastal retreat. Dacha Holiday Home - Sleeps 6 Dacha Holiday Home is a detached holiday accommodation furnished and designed to a high-standard. The country style kitchen and dining room area is well equipped providing all you need for a comfortable self-catering holiday in Ireland. Leading off from the kitchen is a beautiful living room with high ceilings and velux windows filling the room with light and warmth on those beautiful sunny days in the Sunny South East. There is a wood burner, TV and comfortable furnishings in this room. The patio doors lead out to the large lawned garden. The second living room to the front of the house has an open fire, TV, DVD player and more comfortable couches making it the perfect place to relax and take in the beautiful sea views. This seaside holiday home has 3 bedrooms and sleeps 6 guests comfortably: - Double en-suite bedroom, sleeping 2 - Twin bedroom, sleeping 2 - Twin bedroom, sleeping 2 The main bathroom has a bath with overhead shower, toilet and hand basin. Outside this pretty seaside holiday home is a large lawned garden with a patio area and garden furniture provided. There is also the added bonus of an outside hot shower, perfect for washing off stubborn sand after a fun day at one of the spectacular local beaches in the area. About Ardmore and the Local Area Located just a short stroll from Dacha Holiday Home is the picturesque fishing village of Ardmore. Stroll to the selection of local shops, traditional pubs and excellent restaurants. For a special experience book a table at The House, a Michelin star restaurant located at the local five-star Cliff House Hotel. The village is home to a talented array of artists, visit the many local craft shops displaying pottery and handmade crafts. Enjoy a weekend of music and entertainment throughout the village at the Pattern Festival held every July. The village has a children’s playground plus you and your guests can enjoy a variety of adventure sports locally. Go sea angling, kayaking, stand-up-paddle boarding, white water kayaking with Ardmore Adventures, plus they also run a number of camps throughout the year. Explore the 5km waymarked cliff walk which takes about 1 hour to complete. On this circular route you will pass by Ram Head, the Coastguard Station which dates back to 1867, the Castle and the Lookout Post which was used during World War II by coast watch personnel to log all ships and aircraft which passed. For a longer walk discover St. Declan’s Way, a modern waymarked walking route from Ardmore to Cashel in County Tipperary. It crosses the Knockmealdown Mountains via a height of 537metres and is 94km length. Beautiful Beaches in the Surrounding Area Guests have not one but five beautiful beaches they can explore in the surrounding area. On your next self-catering holiday in Ardmore visit Ballyquin, a lovely long sandy beach which has some fantastic beach rock formations. Whiting Bay is home to two long sandy beaches set in beautiful surroundings. At Goat Island you’ll find Coady Cove a gorgeous little beach and one of Waterford’s hidden gems. Caliso Bay is a lovely fishing beach with pretty scenery and of course Ardmore sandy beach, which is easily reachable from our holiday accommodation located in Ardmore village. Ireland’s Ancient East Ardmore is wrapped around a long sandy beach and ideally located between Dungarvan and Youghal just off the N25. This picturesque village is steeped in history and home to Ireland’s oldest Christian settlement with many interesting historic sites and ruins including a 12th-century Round Tower and cathedral. From our seaside holiday accommodation you can easily reach this historic site. From its elevated site savour the beautiful views over Ardmore village and Waterford coast. View the carvings on the West Gable of the Cathedral which are special to Ardmore and depict Biblical scenes as well as scenes from the early Christianisation of Ardmore. The vibrant town of Youghal is 14km away, one of the best examples of a Norman walled port in Ireland. Other interesting towns to visit include the bustling seaside market town of Dungarvan and the pretty heritage town of Lismore. From Dungarvan Harbour hop on an offshore charter and go deep sea fishing, whale, dolphin & seal watching. Or hire bikes locally and explore the wonderful old railway line from Dungarvan to Waterford City, The Waterford Greenway.
