Xplore Tralee Officially Launched in Tralee Town

'Staying connected has never been so important and supporting a town and community will become even more critical in the years ahead,' so says Minister Norma Foley at the launch today of the new Xplore Tralee App and Website.

The highly-anticipated Xplore Tralee App and Website were officially launched at the Rose Garden by the Mayor of Tralee, Cllr Terry O’Brien along with Tralee Chamber Alliance President Kevin McCarthy, Chamber Chief Executive Ken Tobin, and Minister for Education Norma Foley.

Tralee has now become part of Xplore’s growing network of towns that extends from Galway to Kerry, to Cork and Carlow. The launch is indicative of a wider movement in towns across the country, where enterprising locals are seeking out new and efficient ways to boost their local economies, attract tourists and promote their towns' amenities.

The new Xplore Tralee platform was launched at the Rose Garden and at a number of local businesses including the Rose Hotel (above)

Xplore is a digital infrastructure for towns developed by Galway based company, Booniverse Limited. The platform’s simplistic design allows users to interact with a variety of towns without having to download multiple apps or visit multiple websites. Users enable location services or select a region to stay local.

Ken Tobin reflects on the onboarding process: 'Over the past number of months, the team in Tralee Chamber have been working with a core group of businesses and Booniverse to redevelop the existing App, and to completely rebuild the tralee.ie website. The aim of this entirely new platform is to provide a location for everything local businesses and groups could possibly need. It’s so much more than just a website, it’s a digital infrastructure for Tralee.'

Commenting on the launch, Xplore COO James Finan says ‘We are delighted to be in partnership with Tralee, the response has been amazing and it shows how valuable and needed something like the Xplore Tralee App is. We are working with the communities in Galway, Fermoy, Portumna & Youghal to keep them up to date and are currently preparing Killarney, Clonakilty, and Bagenalstown for rollout. We want Xplore to matter — to our clients, to our people, and in our communities — both here in Ireland and other communities around the world, wherever we do business. I would be very happy to speak with any group who wants this for their town.’
