Over the course of a weekend, the grounds of Clonalis estate will be transformed into a stunning outdoor music venue. There will be three festival stages and 27 acts, including popular artists like The Zutons, Villagers, and Orla Gartland.
Much more than just a music festival, the two-day event will include family-friendly activities and a song contest for aspiring musicians. Hungry festival-goers will not be disappointed with plenty of food stalls — representing a wide range of cuisines — set to be present over the September weekend.
Camping areas will be made available on-site, with a designated campsite for families (children under 12) set to be created too.
Meanwhile, the festival's 'Family Zone' will have plenty of activities and events to keep the little ones busy, which will take place within Clonalis' beautiful walled orchard garden. In addition to favourites like face painting and fairground rides, activities will include storytelling, circus acts, board games, basket weaving, ancient Irish music, and interactive displays of Irish medieval warriors, showcasing their way of life.
Festival sponsors include Ballymore, Harmac Medical Products and Ireland West Airport, among others. Organisers hope that the festival will raise Castlerea's profile as a tourist destination. It's hoped that an influx of visitors will give the local economy a welcome boost and bring attention to the area's beautiful natural amenities, such as our scenic river trails and outdoor attractions.
