Success
It's been a long and difficult road since the first Irish case of COVID-19 was detected in February last year. Now we're all at the end of our tethers and looking for something positive to focus on amid lockdown number 3.
A virtual event set to take place this weekend might do just that. National Thank You Day is this Sunday the 28 of February — and it's up to you to take part and spread the love.
The brainchild of Cork-based journalist Graham Clifford, it's hoped that National Thank You Day will help us to reflect on the kindnesses we've received over the past year. It also allows us the opportunity to give thanks to those who rarely get to hear it, such as the people who work on the bin lorries, Graham says.
Consider who's reached out to you this year when you needed a hand — perhaps that's a teacher, neighbour, colleague, even a good friend — and let them know how much you appreciate them. To participate in the event, use the tag #thanksamillion on your social media appreciation posts. You can also send a text, call or post a letter or a card to someone who has helped you out.
Spread the word (and love) far and wide. We're all in need of a lift!
