Galway Film Fleadh will feature outdoor cinema experience

The 33rd Galway Film Fleadh is due to kick off next week and will run from Tuesday the 20th to Sunday the 25th.

Organisers have announced that the programme will be delivered in 3 mediums: outdoor, online and in-cinema.

Outdoor screenings will be held in Fr. Burke Park which is situated in Galway's charming West End. Groups of up to six are welcome to attend, provided they have bought tickets in advance. Further information on their website details that:

'Seventeen of the festival’s 40+ feature film line-up, and three of its specially curated short film programmes, will screen to an audience of 200 socially-distant audience members with audio delivered via wireless headphones.'

3 TG4 feature films are set to premiere at the Fleadh, where it is hoped that the profile of Irish language filmmaking will be raised and that the features will gain the recognition and audience they deserve.

Many of the festival's films will also be available to rent and watch via a third-party streaming platform that can be accessed through their website. For film buffs, there will also be live streams of talks with stars such as Gabriel Byrne - these events are FREE but you will need to register in advance.
