We are delighted to officially welcome the beautiful seaport town of Cobh to the Xplore platform!
Cobh is now one of five Cork towns to join our Xplore network, which includes Clonakilty, Fermoy, Youghal, and Carrigaline as well as towns in Galway, Kerry, and Carlow.
Cobh is a picturesque harbour town in East Cork, famous for its connections to the Titanic's maiden voyage. Steeped in history and dotted with impressive Victorian-era landmarks, the town is home to over 13,000 people and is a popular tourist destination.
Prior to Irish independence, Cobh went by the name of Queenstown from 1849 to 1920. It is well-known for being the RMS Titanic's last port of call in 1912; their former White Star Line ticket office now houses a museum dedicated to the history of the ship.
The town is also home to one of Ireland's tallest buildings, St. Colman's Cathedral, which overlooks the colourful harbour. Other notable attractions include the Cobh Heritage Centre, Spike Island, and the Victorian promenade and bandstand.
All of these incredible attractions and more are now ready to be discovered on Xplore Cobh in the Xplore Local app. Whether you're a local or just visiting, you can now find information on local shops, restaurants, hotels, services, attractions, hikes & trails and news all in one place.
Find out more about everything Cobh has to offer by downloading the Xplore Local app from the Apple and Play stores. If you already have the app, you can check out what's going on in Cobh by clicking on 'Select another town' in the main app menu.
