Xplore is delighted to welcome Clonakilty as the most recent addition to our digital platform! Clon are the 5th Cork town to join our Xplore Local network and the 11th Irish town that you can now tap into via our new and improved app.

Clonakilty is a seaside town in West Cork. Home to some of Ireland's most famous beaches, festivals and attractions, Clonakilty is a popular holiday destination with a vibrant, proud and active local community.

The town has received praise for its intuitively designed public spaces and innovative community schemes like Clonbike. A multi-award-winning destination, the town was lauded as the 'Best Town in the UK and Ireland' in 2017 and went on to scoop 'Best Town in Europe' and 'Best Place of the Year' by the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland in the same year.

The birthplace of Irish revolutionary, Michael Collins, is situated 5km west of Clon and there is a museum dedicated to his memory located in the town. Other major attractions include the Model Village, Clonakilty Blackpudding Visitor Centre, and the towns' live music scene.
