<h1>New, Innovitive Music From Tralee Native</h1>

<p>The Associate Artists Scheme, an initiative launched by Siamsa Tíre to support artists during lockdown, has produced some wonderful pieces of work, but we are absolutely loving Tralee native, Alma Kelliher's breath-taking composition 'To The Sea', a multi-layered, ambient, high-concept soundscape that takes you soaring to the top a cliff, then lets you fly down to the crashing Atlantic ocean below; the techno equivalent of holding a salty conch shell up to your ear.</p>
<h2>Wild Atlantic Way&nbsp;</h2>
<p>“It’s fantastic for Siamsa Tíre to have such a life-affirming project emerge from our Associate Artists Scheme, to have a piece of music that celebrates Alma’s home, the elemental beauty of the west of Ireland and the Wild Atlantic Way, says Executive Director, Róisín McGarr.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Some of you might already know Alma's work from the electro-folk solo act Lux Alma. If so, you'll recognise how art is always front and centre to her work.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;“The sea isn’t just the inspiration for this piece of music; it is the music,” says Alma.  “Every hit of a snare drum is a crashing wave in Rossbeigh.  Each kick drum is a thundering roll of the ocean at Coumeenole, and every synthesiser has a different sample of the Atlantic at its core.”&nbsp;</p>
<h3>Drama</h3>
<p>In the accompanying video, Alma can be seeing floating  through  rugged landscapes like a speck of coral, wearing a stunning red tulle creation, custom-made by fellow musician Constance Keane. Drama, art, music, couture. Our favourite combination.&nbsp;</p>
<p>To the Sea is being premiered on Siamsa Tíre's Facebook at 8pm on the 8th of July.  After that, it will be available on Spotify and other music streaming services and the video will be on YouTube for anyone who misses its original screening.</p>
