The Gyrator

Despite appearances, this steel sculpture does not depict a crushed whiskey still! In fact, it represents the motion of the vehicles moving (gyrating) around the oval roundabout. The sculpture was commissioned as part of the ‘Percent for Art’ programme when the old Goose’s Acre had to be radically modified to accommodate the entrance to Market Green shopping centre.
