<h3>An up and coming young director and filmmaker is making waves in the industry as he&#8217;s been nominated for a prestigious award.</h3>
&Ograve;l&aacute;m&iacute;d&eacute; Ojegbenro&nbsp;(20) from&nbsp;New Street has been nominated in the Film Director and Film Programmer category of the Virgin Media Dublin International Film Festival (VMDIFF) Aer Lingus Discovery Awards.
The winners will be announced during the festival which takes place from February 23 to March 6.
&Ograve;l&aacute;m&iacute;d&eacute; has had a huge interest in filmmaking since the age of 16 and founded local group Killarney Young Filmmakers. The former Sem student is&nbsp;currently in his&nbsp;second year at D&uacute;n Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IADT).
The award aims to identify, champion, support, and encourage new and emerging talent both in front of and behind the camera, &Ograve;l&aacute;m&iacute;d&eacute; explained.
&#8220;I&#8217;m so honoured and grateful to have been nominated by the VMDIFF and Discovery Award judging panels,&#8221; he told the Killarney Advertiser.
&#8220;It&#8217;s such fantastic news to have something to look forward to at the start of a new year. It&#8217;s also remarkable that VMDIFF recognises artists both behind and in front of the camera. As an emerging director, it&#8217;s a great way to encourage me to move forward in the Irish filmmaking community.&#8221;
