<h3>Following on the tremendous success of last year&rsquo;s South Kerry Jobs Fair, plans are at an advanced stage for this year&rsquo;s event.
It will take place on March 2 at the Great Southern Killarney.</h3>
More than eight hundred people attended the event last year while there were 50 exhibitors with almost one thousand jobs available.
The event is being jointly organised by South Kerry Development Partnership in conjunction with the Killarney Chamber of Tourism and Commerce.
&ldquo;To date many of last year&rsquo;s exhibitors have indicated they will again attend the event and there are also enquiries from other companies and organisations with positions available,&rdquo; Joanne Griffin from SKDP&rsquo;s Enterprise Office said.
&ldquo;We expect there will be a strong interest in the event from many of those who have recently taken up residence in the county and we will be working to facilitate them to attend the event.&rdquo;
Jobs will be available in all sectors she noted, pointing out that in addition to the hotel sector, last year&rsquo;s event featured companies from the engineering, finance, retail and marketing sectors.
The fair was launched at the Great Southern Killarney on Tuesday morning.
It marked one of the first public engagements for newly appointed Killarney Chamber of Tourism and Commerce chief executive Bridget O&rsquo;Keeffe.
&ldquo;Having joined the Killarney Chamber of Tourism &amp; Commerce as Senior Executive in the last week I can see the tremendous value this will bring to South Kerry. Hosting the event early this year gives exhibitors an even greater opportunity to find the right candidates for roles within their organisations earlier in the season. Jobs will be available in all sectors which will help support the wider community,&rdquo; she said.
Killarney based companies already confirmed for the fair include Red Chair Recruitment, the Great Southern Killarney and Hayfield Collection of hotels, which includes the Royal Hotel.
Potential employees are advised to bring an up-to-date CV with them.
