<h3>Volunteers from Killarney Tidy Towns will be back on the road this Monday night for the first time since 2019.</h3>
They will meet at the Lidl car park at 6pm.
Despite a lack of volunteers last year Killarney still took a gold medal in the annual Tidy Towns Competition.
However, it&#8217;s 2011 since Killarney last won the overall title and that is something Johnny Maguire of the Killarney Tidy Town Committee is keen to address.
&ldquo;Judging this year, will take place between June and September, this is the first year of proper judging for two years,&rdquo; he told the Killarney Advertiser.
&ldquo;I am urging all businesses and residents associations to make their place stand out;&nbsp;bright colours, the judges like that, and lose the magnolia&nbsp;so we can retain our place or better again retain our national title from 12 years ago.&rdquo;
He also praised the efforts of the Killarney Municipal District&rsquo;s street team.
&ldquo;They have such pride in their town, our volunteers are only putting the finishing touches to the great work they do. They go above and beyond and the whole town is proud of their sense of place.&rdquo;
