<h3>A former student at Killarney School of Music will become the school&rsquo;s new signing teacher after qualifying with a Masters&rsquo; Degree in Vocal Performance from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama this summer.</h3>
 Laura O&rsquo;Keeffe, who is well known locally for her performances at St Mary&rsquo;s Cathedral will take up her new role on September 9.
 The Lissivigeen native was a student at the school up to 2017. After that she earned an Honours degree from CIT Cork School of Music before moving to Wales.
 While studying at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama she performed with the BBC National Chorus of Wales and The Welsh National Opera Chorus.
 Her singing career has taken her all over Europe including Wales, Scotland, Italy and Portugal as well as many solo concerts, recitals, chamber music and opera scenes across Ireland but she is now ready to return to home.
 &ldquo;I feel really blessed,&rdquo; she told the Killarney Advertiser. &ldquo;People in Killarney would know me from singing at the Cathedral or at local weddings. I fluked getting into Cardiff &ndash; there was only 12 of us and we were taught by the best singers in the world.&rdquo;
