<h3>They have just over a half century of teaching years combined &#8211; but on Friday it was time to close the chapter on their educational careers.</h3>
The St Oliver&rsquo;s NS community came together to celebrate the teaching careers and retirements of Sheila Goulding and Mair&eacute;ad Kerrisk, who have been an integral part of the school&rsquo;s life.
Sheila has taught in St Oliver&rsquo;s for 31 years and Mair&eacute;ad for 20 years.
They gathered with family, friends, colleagues and pupils to mark the occasion of their retirements in a Mass which celebrated their teaching careers.
&#8220;It was a joyous celebration, reflecting the happy memories both teachers have of their time in the school,&#8221; teacher Maria Ryan said.
&#8220;Both of the teachers have educated the children in their care with warmth, kindness and gentleness. They have embraced the uniqueness of each child and have instilled in them a sense of sharing, respect and an appreciation of the beauty of the natural environment that surrounds us.&#8221;
As they bade farewell to teaching in St Oliver&rsquo;s, Sheila and Mair&eacute;ad acknowledged the great joy that working with the children and the school community brought them.
They are wished a very fond farewell from their friends, colleagues and pupils who hope they have a long, happy and fulfilling retirement.
