<h3>The weather may have put a halt to last Saturday&#8217;s Christmas in Killarney Magic Parade but Santa didn&#8217;t let the children down!</h3>
Organisers took the decision to cancel due to the numerous weather alerts and following consultations with An Garda S&iacute;och&aacute;na.
Concern has been expressed about the safety of people driving from and returning to more remote areas where roads were still dangerous.
However, Santa was very busy as he meet hundreds of children at his grotto before dashing off to other appointments including Kate Kearney&rsquo;s Cottage.
When he heard that many local children were disappointed that the parade was cancelled &#8211; including some whose parents had booked them into local hotels &#8211; he decided to make a surprise visit to Main St around the same time the parade should have been taking place.
&ldquo;Mrs Claus&nbsp;heard that many of you were unhappy and that many people had travelled especially to Killarney this weekend for the parades,&rdquo; Santa explained.
&ldquo;The decision not to run the parades was made in good fate and if you were travelling to Killarney just to see the parades we were fearful of your safety going home.
&ldquo;But Mrs Claus has asked me, or maybe she told me, to put on my boots and to go into town.&rdquo;
There is another spectacular parade to look forward to today&nbsp;(Saturday) at 6pm.
