<h3>A lady so inspired by by her lockdowns walks around Killarney has written a play which will take to the stage this Friday night.</h3>
Rita Kearney McCarthy will perform her one act play &#8216;The Woman from Purple Mountain&#8217; in Kate Kearneys Cottage at 7pm.
This poignant play runs about 40 minutes and features Josephine Roche and Mairead Brosnan.
&#8220;It&#8217;s presented by the Knocknagoshel Spike Players,&#8221; Susan Goodwillie told the Killarney Advertiser.
&#8220;During COVID Rita walked a lot around Killarney with a guide who gave a good history of the area. She was moved by stories of strong women on their own.&#8221;
Susan explained that the play is about an old woman thinking back on her life and goes between her older self and her younger self.
&#8220;Her husband died and she had a Poit&iacute;n induced dream to find the recipe for his Poit&iacute;n. She makes it and delivers it all over the Black Valley.&#8221;
