<h3>Staff from the Arbutus Hotel battled Storm Barra this morning (Tuesday) to make their outdoor dining area safe after it collapsed in high winds.</h3>
The College St hotel is one of many town centre businesses under pressure this morning as the storm continues to wreak havoc in the area.
The outdoor dining area at the rear of the Arbutus was ripped apart during the storm.
The marquee was used as the venue for last weekend&rsquo;s charity Christmas market in the hotel and the event was such a success there are plans to repeat it this weekend.
&ldquo;We are drowned wet but it is all safe now,&rdquo; general manager, Pat Gill, told the Killarney Advertiser.
&ldquo;If we have to move this weekend&rsquo;s craft fair indoors, we will do that, but we may be limited on numbers &ndash; social distancing and all that.&rdquo;
A decision on this weekend&rsquo;s craft fair will be made on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Kerry County Council staff and sub-contractors removed several Christmas decorations from the town centre yesterday evening in anticipation of today&rsquo;s storm.
