<h3>Well known Kilcummin sheepdog handler Tom O&rsquo;Sullivan has come out on top in one of the most prestigious trials in the world.</h3>
Tom and his border collie &#8216;North Hill Tess&#8217; have been declared the winners of the famous BBC show, &lsquo;One man and his dog&rsquo;.
Tom is no stranger to success; he won last year&rsquo;s International Supreme Championships in Aberystwyth in Wales.
This international competition earned him an invite to compete in &lsquo;One man and his Dog&rsquo;, a competition he describes as &ldquo;the TV programme that everyone associates with sheepdog trialling&rdquo;.
&ldquo;I&rsquo;m delighted with the win. There is a lot of luck involved but Tess was on form and worked exceptionally well,&rdquo; he told the Killarney Advertiser.
&ldquo;It was an honour to represent Ireland and bring the trophy back to Kilcummin. We spend a lot of time training for these sort of events so it&#8217;s great that days like this make it all worthwhile. We&rsquo;re delighted with the feedback and congratulations all week. It&#8217;s very much appreciated.&rdquo;
The popular TV show was first aired by the BBC in 1976 and continues today as a special annual episode of Countryfile.
Although recorded last month on a farm in north Wales, the final was aired last Sunday evening and watched by millions of viewers.
