The Kerry Bikers are hosting their annual Christmas Bike Run on December 19 to raise funds for St Francis Special School at St Mary of the Angels in Beaufort.

Now in its fifth year, the run, which is organised by an amalgamation of several Kerry motorcycle clubs under the banner of Kerry Bikers, will visit Killarney.

The run gets underway at 10.30am from Tralee. The first stop off is in Killarney where the Tralee group will be joined by local motorcyclists before setting off for a run to Killorglin and Castleisland.

“We used to do the full Ring of Kerry but many people found it too long for the time of year, so this year the route is a mis-match of Kerry towns,” organiser, Dave Foley, said. “Entry fee is by donation too – we used to set at a tenner but found last year we raised a lot more money by letting people decide themselves. Some give a five and more give €50.”

Over one hundred motorcycles are expected to take part in the run. Funds will also be donated to Eagle Lodge Care in Tralee.
