<h3>&#8216;Friends of Killarney Hurling&#8217; is a new initiative recently set up to promote hurling in the greater Killarney area.</h3>
The objective of this is to identify and support various initiatives such as school coaching, open days with guest coaches, fun day activities and many other events to promote hurling.
 &ldquo;The aim is to support Colm O&#8217;Brien in his role as GDA [Games Development Administrator] and offer some assistance in promoting the small ball in this area,&rdquo; chairperson, Michael Milner, said.
 &ldquo;Some local Garda&iacute; have also offered their support with this initiative and will assist with juvenile coaching in some schools.&rdquo;
 O&rsquo;Sullivan Cycles have sponsored a bike to the value of &euro;1,000 as first prize in a new fundraising draw which takes place on June 5. Other prizes include &euro;250 and &euro;100 cash.
