<h3>The continued growth of Killarney Athletic AFC means the club is now recruiting more volunteers.</h3>
This time last year the club was awarded the FAI &lsquo;Star Mark&rsquo;. This means the sport&rsquo;s governing body recognises the governance that is in place within the club&rsquo;s structure.
Killarney Athletic is one of only two clubs in Kerry and 26 nationally to have been awarded &lsquo;Star Mark&rsquo; status.
As a result more and more people want to join the club. This is particularly noticeable in the Juvenile Girls section. A year ago, around 40 girls were members of the club and that has now grown to over 100.
&ldquo;We always need more volunteers,&rdquo; said Club Chair Ger Nagle.
&ldquo;Volunteers can come in many ways. 17 years ago I joined the club because my son was playing, now I am Club Chair.&rdquo;
The club has also set up a nationally recognised player development programme across all ages.
&ldquo;We are evolving more and more,&rdquo; she added. &ldquo;We need more volunteers to keep this expansion going.&rdquo;
