<h3>One of the biggest movies of the moment hit screens across the globe this week &#8211; and a little bit of Killarney features in a main scene which has been seen my millions!</h3>
Warner Bros &#8216;Magic Mike&#8217;s Last Dance&#8217;, starring Hollywood&#8217;s Channing Tatum and Salma Hayek, was released on Friday last &#8211; but if you look closely you&#8217;ll see a character wearing a T-shirt from Killarney alt-rock duo Greywind.
How the bother/sister duo from Ballydribbeen managed to get their merch on one of Hollywood&#8217;s biggest movies is a whole other story according to guitarist and songwriter Paul O&#8217;Sullivan.
Actor Ethan Lawrence, who many will know as Joe in &#8216;Bad Education&#8217; or James in the Netflix series &#8216;After Life&#8217; starring Ricky Gervais, auditioned for &#8216;Magic Mike&#8217;s Last Dance&#8217; wearing his own Greywind T-shirt.
And the casting people loved it so much that they asked if it could be used in the actual movie, Paul who is in the band with his sister Steph, told the Killarney Advertiser.
Greywind were also the headline act in London yesterday evening (Thursday) in the O2 Academy in Islington but he said they managed to squeeze in a bit of downtime to see the movie.
&#8220;It&#8217;s so cool seeing it in cinemas,&#8221; Paul said. &#8220;You can see the T-shirt in a couple of shots in a two to three minute scene with Channing Tatum. We have been working on songs, recording in the studio this week and took time out to see it. Ethan Lawrence, he&#8217;s a fan of ours and tweeted us loads of times. Last year he tweeted us and said he wore the T-shirt to his audition. Warner Bros then sent us a contract to use it in the film.&#8221;
Ethan Lawrence even visited their show in London last night (Thursday) and they were all hoping to meet up.
<h3>VIRAL</h3>
The band who are busy recording their second album have had their best year online.
They have&nbsp;amassed a following of almost 100k on TikTok. A 10-second clip of their song &#8216;Carspin&#8217; got 500k views and &#8216;Afterthoughts&#8217; 800k. &#8216;Autumn&#8217; got 1.8m views on TikTok and 5.8m on Instagram.
&#8220;We went from 3k followers to over 100k followers in three days,&#8221; Paul added. &#8220;Our songs have got over 13 million views recently.&#8221;
The band&#8217;s debut album &lsquo;Afterthoughts&rsquo; was recorded in Texas with Grammy-Winning producer Jason Perry and charted in the Official UK Rock Chart.
They have been praised by the likes of BBC Radio 1, Zane Lowe and MTV and in 2021 released their acclaimed newest single &lsquo;Am I Asleep?&rsquo; with the track being described as &ldquo;a stadium-ready alt-rock anthem&rdquo; by Record Of The Day.
&#8220;We&#8217;re pretty excited for the rest of the year. The next aim is to get a song in a major movie.&#8221;
