<h3>Kerry County Council will be asked to explain why plans for the construction of the outdoor dining public space in Kenmare Place is falling so far behind.</h3>
The latest completion date promised by the Council is the end of September but one elected councillor believes this is unrealistic given the amount of work that remains on site.
 Construction of the project, which is funded by F&aacute;ilte Ireland, began in May this year with a three to four-month timeframe promised.
 Late last month elected councillors were informed by email that the project will be completed by the end of September this year &ndash; just over two weeks away.
 A lack of construction materials is the cause of the latest delay.
 Cllr Brendan Cronin is going to raise the matter at next week&rsquo;s Killarney Municipal District meeting.
 He will ask: &ldquo;When will the new outdoor dining area at Kenmare Place be completed and open to the public?&rdquo;
 The Ballyhar councillor believes that the September date is not realistic and has expressed disappointment that the project will miss the tourist season this year.
 &ldquo;The latest emails said it would be finished by the end of September. They say there are delays in getting materials but surely if you ordered stuff in May it would be here by now unless you are after something really fancy altogether,&#8221; he told the Killarney Advertiser.
 &#8220;It is just a few walls, seats and paving, this is a very straightforward job. The Council told us it was a three month job &#8211; if you walked down there it is a long way off finishing.&rdquo;
