Funding, announced this week by the Department of Transport, has allocated &euro;5,000 to the school.
 Local councillors have been calling for traffic management in the area for a long time.
 Minister for Education and Kerry TD Norma Foley announced the Fossa funding on Wednesday.
 &ldquo;I welcome confirmation of this significant funding which will enhance and develop walking and cycling infrastructure across the county,&rdquo; she said.
 &ldquo;The Safe Routes to School Programme has seen a myriad of imaginative and fun ways for our school communities to reinvent their active pathways to schools. This widening of the programme will have a transformative effect on the daily commute for these eight schools in Kerry.&rdquo;
