<h3>Killarney&rsquo;s Christmas lights will have several new features this year &#8211; but the exact style is remaining a closely guarded secret until the official switching on ceremony on Saturday night.</h3>
Electrician Diarmuid Cronin has been a familiar sight on the town&#8217;s streets over the last few weeks as he and his team put the finishing touches to this year&rsquo;s display.
The official &lsquo;Switching on Ceremony&rsquo; will take place&nbsp;with Mayor Marie Moloney tasked with the all important job.
The first of several planned &lsquo;Christmas in Killarney&rsquo; parades will also take place on Saturday night.
&ldquo;It is a great honour for me to be bringing such joy and festivities to Killarney,&rdquo; Diarmuid told the Killarney Advertiser. &ldquo;There are a few new elements but you will have to wait until Saturday to see them. I hope the people of Killarney will enjoy them &ndash; especially the kids &ndash; and that we bring some light and colour after a difficult year. I would also like to thank motorists for their patience in recent weeks as we blocked streets to get the decorations and lights up in time. I would also like thank Eileen O&rsquo;Donoghue and Noel O&rsquo;Leary of the Municipal District Council who have been a great support in this.&rdquo;
