<h3>&euro;96,000 has been allocated to fix Beaufort&#8217;s Board of Works Road which is in a bad need of repair with works due to start after the May Bank Holiday weekend.</h3>
The news was this week welcomed by local Fianna F&aacute;il Councillor, Michael Cahill who says locals &#8220;have endured their fair share of hardship over many years with numerous water breaks, water outages and a road that has been in a shocking state of repair&#8221;.
 &ldquo;These funds are extremely welcome and are to be supported by additional significant funding from Uisce &Eacute;ireann to reinstate all sections of roadway on the Board of Works Road in Beaufort affected by the essential pipe laying works carried out there,&#8221; Councillor Cahill, speaking at a recent meeting of Kerry County Council, said.
 &#8220;I fought long and hard to improve the Beaufort water supply, which was badly needed, but also to ensure that the road surface would be repaired to a proper standard. The Board of Works road, Beaufort is by far the busiest county road in Kerry. It is the most populated county road, it carries the most traffic, it is the main thoroughfare between Killarney and Dromid, Waterville, Glencar, Beaufort etc, and for most people travelling to the Gap at Dunloe and the McGillycuddy Reeks,&#8221; he said.
 &ldquo;I am now delighted to report that my efforts are being rewarded and, not alone will the water supply locally be top class, but the road surface will now also be brought up to a proper standard.&rdquo;
