<h3>Plans to install real-time electronic car parking signs in the town centre could cost over &euro;1m.</h3>
In November 2019 it was proposed at a Killarney Municipal District meeting that such signs would help reduce traffic congestion in the town centre.
 The signs could electronically display live car park capacity and the number of spaces left in the Rock Road, Lewis Road, Outlet Centre, Fair Hill, New Street and Glebe car parks.
 It is hoped the signs would help reduce the number of vehicular movements which arise due to repetitive circulation of drivers seeking parking.
 The plan was put on hold due to the pandemic but was back on the Council agenda for its March meeting after Mayor Marie Moloney called for such a plan to be implemented.
 &ldquo;Quotations were sought for the supply and installation of this technology and the cost of installing same would be in excess of &euro;1m. Funding for this project will be applied for again under relevant grant funding schemes as they arise,&rdquo; a Council official told the meeting.
