<h3>There was an abundance of talent as nine clubs took part in the East Kerry Scór na bPaistí on Sunday.</h3>
The event took place in Fossa Community Hall beginning at 3pm with a huge crowd in attendance.
Clubs included Dr. Crokes, Gneeveguilla, Legion, Fossa, Rathmore, Glenflesk, Kilcummin, Spa and Listry and this year&#8217;s event saw the addition of two new disciplines; solo music and solo dance.
The day began with Solo Dance followed by Recitation, then Solo Music, Solo Singing, Ballad, Leiriú, Figure, Music and Set Dancing.
And the standard was once again very high in East Kerry, Anne Holland, East Kerry Scór Officer, told the Killarney Advertiser.
&#8220;It was great to see such wonderful talent coming through on the cultural side of the GAA,&#8221; she said.
She added a thank you to Bill Mangan of Fossa Community Centre for setting up along with Celine and Chloe O&#8217;Sullivan, Dermot Coffey on the door collecting money and soundman Sean O Laoithe, photographer Seamus Healy, judges Frances Healy (recitation and Leiriu), Marie Sheehan (dancing), Rachel O&#8217;Connor (Song and Music) and Orla Clifford for solo dance.
&#8220;Each of these ladies are very talented in their fields and did an excellent job. Thanks to our Club Scór Ófficers who worked very hard behind the scenes and helped out on the day: Eileen Aherne, Rachel Foley, Celine O&#8217;Sullivan, Alison O&#8217;Sullivan, Caroline Cox, Maria O&#8217;Leary, Aoife O&#8217;Mahony, Eileen Hartnett and Cathal Collins and Michael Aherne.
First place advances to the County Semi-Final on April 14 at 7pm in CYMS Hall, Killorglin.
&#8220;Huge thanks to the coaches/mentors/parents also. Fear An Tí was Matt O&#8217;Neill, Chairman of Dr. Crokes, was outstanding and kept the show on schedule. No stranger to Scór as a competitor and is a class act in the seanachaí department. Fellow East Kerry officers, Acting Chairman, Garry O&#8217;Halloran and Assistant PRO Michael O&#8217;Mahony, were invaluable and helped throughout the competition on the day.
&#8220;Former President of the GAA, Sean Kelly, made a flying visit to Fossa to witness the extremely, talented, primary school children performing on stage.
The event is not possible without the wonderful sponsors, she added.
&#8220;Killarney Credit Union Marketing Officer Karena McCarth, was in attendance to present the trophies to all the exceptional competitors.&#8221;
