<h3>Killarney Municipal District and An Garda S&iacute;och&aacute;na are to clamp down on footpath parking in the town.</h3>
Cllr John O&rsquo;Donoghue highlighted the issues at a recent KMD meeting.
 He said: &ldquo;With the emphasis on active travel, that we would speak to the local Garda&iacute; and our own traffic wardens and ask them to be vigilant on the matter of motor vehicles parking on footpaths and cycleways. It is impeding safe passage for cyclists and those with a disability or with a buggy.
 A Council official said they have informed the Garda&iacute; on the issue.
 &ldquo;Kerry County Council Traffic Wardens continuously monitor the public footpaths within the town centre,&#8221; the official said.
 &#8220;Where a vehicle is found to be parked on the public footpath / cycleway they are issued with a fine. Kerry County Council have highlighted the Councillor&#8217;s request to An Garda S&iacute;och&aacute;na.&rdquo;
