<h3>Giving a gift to others was a big lesson little ones from a local preschool learned as they donated toys and other items to those less fortunate than themselves.</h3>
Children from Maggie&rsquo;s Montessori Preschool packed their shoeboxes full of colourful items as they enjoyed taking part in the gift of giving to children of similar ages to themselves.
The school has taken part in Team Hope&rsquo;s Christmas Shoebox Appeal over the past few years and every year seems to be just as exciting for the children.
They learned what to fill the box with including items chosen by themselves and then had discussions on what was in their box and why!
The heart-warming story of the &lsquo;Bunny&rsquo;s Shoebox Journey&rsquo; gives the children a good understanding on the travels of their shoebox from Ireland to Africa. It explains how some children have never seen a toothbrush, doll or teddy until their Christmas shoebox arrived,&#8221; Mags O&#8217;Sullivan told the Killarney Advertiser.
&#8220;When the children realise that often these shoebox gifts are the only gift that a child will receive at Christmas time, they tend to offer more solutions which encourages this priceless and valuable lesson that the children learn by taking part in this meaningful activity.&#8221;
