Features in the fully electric car include zero emissions from its 286hp engine which offers 485km of pure electric range.
The new iX3 is the next step in the German firm’s ambitions to offer a full range of all-electric models in its offerings.
Aherns will have four different all-electric BMW models on offer ahead of the January sales boom with the new i4 and iX due in late November or early December joining the already popular i3.
However, BMW is also committed to the continuation of the manufacture of petrol and diesel engines as well as increasing its hybrid version.
“We have something for everyone,” explained dealer principal Paul Ahern. “Electric cars are improving all the time. A few years ago we were looking at 280km range, now that is well over 450km. But if someone is not ready for full electric, we have the half-way hybrid and BMW, known for its quality engines will continue to make low-emission petrol and diesels, so call in, take a test drive and see which one suits the best.”
