<h3>The Council has been sued 16 times since January 2020 by members of the public who have either tripped or fallen in the Killarney Municipal District.</h3>
<p>Three of these have been finalised and a further 13 are ongoing.</p>
<p>&ldquo;The amounts paid out per insurance claim by IPB Insurance Limited are commercially sensitive and furthermore, may be protected by data protection legislation and cannot be disclosed,&rdquo; a Council spokesperson said.</p>
<p>&ldquo;The payment of compensation to third party claimants is primarily a matter for our insurance company, IPB Insurance, who give a direct indemnity to the Council.&rdquo;</p>
