The Good Farm

A small family run free-range pig farm, set in picturesque surrounds on the outskirts of Castlecomer. A well-being holistic style of farming, gives our animals time to mature slowly, so they experience and enjoy what all the seasons have to offer. They are part of Bord Bia Quality Assurance Scheme. The Good Farm located in Ardra, Castlecomer, Co Kilkenny offer scrumptious sausages and burgers made from 100% free range pork. Our products are not available in any stores - they can only be purchased directly from the farm. They also cater for all kinds of events and celebrations - kids’ birthday parties, communion parties, adults’ parties, etc. They provide the food, barbeque and marquee, and cook everything fresh onsite. Animal welfare is their top priority. Their pigs are free to forage in picturesque surrounds, topping up their diet on seasonal fruits and berries. This, combined with care and respect, produces a superior product that has the Quality Irish Assurance mark from Bord Bia. They follow the organic criteria - no tail-docking, no teeth-clipping, no antibiotics, no crates. Their animals are loved and respected, and live a happy healthy life, exactly as nature intended. On the farm: They host private walk and talks through the summer months and educational school tours at certain times of year. They sell boxes of Premium sausages and burgers, direct from the farm, also wild garlic bulbs (seasonal) They also offer a service we call the Chefs Pantry with our seasonal herbs and vegetable. Off the the Farm: They are part of Carlow Farmers Market, 9am to 2pm every Saturday They cook their own burgers (gluten free organic spices) and hotdogs topped with their with freshly made signature whiskey relish. They also sell our uncooked sausage and burgers (frozen fresh) to take home. They offer a professional catering service for small private parties, in your home or another venue and also small business lunches. They guarantee The Good Farms dedication to high standards in all aspects of our farming and the services they provide. They use their own produce with their salad vegetable and herbs (seasonal).
