Kyteler's Inn

Kyteler's Inn, a historic public house brimming with charm and mystery, marks the last stop on this tour. Kyteler's Inn is traditionally associated with the Kyteler family, particularly Dame Alice Kyteler, a woman accused of witchcraft in the 14th century. The story of Dame Alice adds an air of intrigue to this enchanting establishment, and you might even hear a tale or two about her escapades as you enjoy a drink and a meal. A restoration took place in the late 1960s, and while some original features were sadly removed or altered, the building still retains a unique character. Its "fine groin-vaulted undercroft" suggests that the structure could indeed date back to the 14th century. The lower story of the building is the only part that remains from the medieval period. As you step inside Kyteler's Inn, you'll find a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The entrance level may appear modernized, but venture down the dark stairs to discover the 13th-century charm. In this atmospheric space, you can enjoy traditional Irish music and lively entertainment. In fact, Kyteler's Inn was awarded the title of Best Music Bar in Ireland in 2012.
