Gort

We would like to extend a huge welcome to the town of Gort which has just gone live on the Xplore platform! Gort has now become part of our growing network of towns that extends from Galway to Kerry, to Cork and Carlow.&nbsp;
The Gort launch comes only a few months after fellow South Galway town Portumna joined the Xplore network, and only 2 weeks after Kerry's capital Tralee launched on the platform. It's indicative of a wider movement in towns across the country, where enterprising locals are seeking out new and efficient ways to boost their local economies, attract tourists and promote their towns' amenities.&nbsp;

Gort is a historical market town in South Galway, known for its ties to W.B Yeats and its well-preserved 18th &amp; 19th-century landmarks. A thriving community, it’s home to a wide variety of authentic local businesses, clubs and organisations.&nbsp;
Gort also has plenty to offer in the way of historical attractions, such as its restored famine buildings, town square 'Weigh House' and the Kiltartan Gregory Museum. The stunning Coole Park, only a 5-minute drive away, offers woodland trails and lake views. Thoor Ballylee — the 15th-century tower famously occupied W.B Yeats and his family — is also a short drive from the town.
