There is something about the beat of the bodhrán. As soon as it kicks in, whether solo or in accompaniment, it sets my hairs standing on end. Not those on my head now, that would be a strange affliction altogether. But as the beat rises, my heart rises also. This is the magic of Trad on the Prom – playing Leisureland, Salthill, every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday night at 8:30pm until September.&nbsp;
World class musicians and dancers take to the stage in a toe tapping foot stomping celebration of traditional Irish culture. The venue is packed to capacity night after night. Coach after coach pull up outside to unload the excited crowd who come to see the globe-trotting cast.

The atmosphere is relaxed, yet intense, as the spectacle unfolds - from haunting melodies to a crescendo of rousing dance routines and back again.&nbsp;

Featuring the extraordinary talents of internationally renowned fiddler Máirín Fahy, a featured soloist with Riverdance and The Chieftains. She is joined by a stellar lineup including Gerard Fahy on the uilleann pipes, whistles, and bouzouki, and the fiery Yvonne Fahy on accordion and bodhrán. The ensemble is expertly brought together by producer and host Chris Kelly on guitar, concertina maestro Padraig Rynne, and Colm Henry on keyboards.
Alongside the punch-packing, soul-soothing sounds of Ireland’s finest musicians are acclaimed Irish voices, including Don Stiffe, Marc Roberts, Yvonne McMahon, Seán Costello, Michelle Lally and Frank Naughton.

Patrons are transfixed by the flying feet of world champion Irish dancers as they challenge each other on stage - the sheer speed is mesmerising.&nbsp;
The current lineup includes lead dancer in Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance, Cathal Keaney; six-time world champion, Claire Greaney; founding members of the TikTok dance sensation Cairde, Dara Kelly and Ronan O’Connell;&nbsp;
Connacht champion Anne Marie Keaney; three-time world champion, Colm Conneely; current world champions Sylvia Carroll and Evan O’Brien; Laoise Dunne, who has toured with Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance; world champion Owen Gaughan; and Róisín Francis, known for her signature style and smile.
