Galway Fire and Rescue Service is responding to a significant fire at Claregalway Corporate Business Park. As a precaution, a partial evacuation of the area is underway.
For public safety, Claregalway Educate Together National School and Coláiste Bhaile Chláir secondary school are also being evacuated. An Garda Síochána is assisting with the evacuation.
Coláiste Bhaile Chláir pupils are being transported by bus to Claregalway GAA Club, Knockdoemore.
Claregalway Educate Together pupils are being evacuated to the church in Claregalway.
Parents/guardians:
Please do not go to the schools, as access is restricted. Instead, collect your children directly from the designated evacuation points.
Both schools have communicated with guardians, and emergency services remain on-site. Further updates will follow as the situation develops.
Galway County Council urges the public to avoid the area and follow official guidance to allow emergency services to operate safely.
