Eclectics: David Kitt The Black Gate, 21st Feb

The Irish producer and musician David Kitt grew up surrounded by and listening to lots of different music. From his father and uncles forming a successful touring folk group to seeing Wu-Tang Clan on their first world tour in Paris in 1994, his immersion in multiple genres is emulated throughout his broad range of music.

After graduating from Trinity with a post-grad in Music Technology, Kitt released his 2000 debut indie electronic album Small Moments, which he famously mixed and recorded from his bedroom. His second album, The Big Romance, achieved double platinum sales in Ireland. His third album, Square 1, went straight to Number 1 in the Irish charts after its release in 2003.&nbsp;

Since his second-last album, 2009’s The Nightsaver, he has released a string of 12s under his techno/house act New Jackson including Having a Coke with You, a remix of The xx' Swept Away and There Will Always Be This Love with Margie Jean Lewis. 2018 saw him return to more ambient folk with his last album Yous.

Greens and Co. Reducing Food Waste Greens and Co. Sunday 23rd

According to the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research, up to one-third of human greenhouse gas emissions are caused by the global food system making it one of the largest contributors to climate change.

Reducing food waste is crucial for the environment as it helps keeps food out of landfills (thus lowering methane emissions) and prevents pollution involved in the production and transportation of food as well as the collection and hauling of food waste. It also makes economic sense for households in the form of reducing bills and lowers disposal costs for restaurants, processors, and farmers.

Zaneta Wright from Rerooting the Future will give a workshop on how we can reduce food waste, help to save some money and reduce our carbon footprint.

Bounce is a club night for people with intellectual disabilities which aims to create a fun, safe and accessible space for young adults to socialise, listen to music and dance in a club environment.

All their DJs and VJs with intellectual disabilities are supported by experienced Galway DJs and VJs and play a wide range of music including pop, rock, hip hop and r’n’b.
