Menlo Walk

Just a 10-minute drive from Galway city centre is the Townland of Menlo. Menlo (Irish: Mionloch, meaning "small lake") is a village and townland in one of the Gaeltacht areas of County Galway. This walk starts at the pier and takes you along rural roads. As you walk along the route Lough Corrib will be on your left, as you walk along you will find many spots to take some picturesque photos. As you loop around to the pier you can visit Menlo Castle, which was home to the Blake family for over 400 years. The Castle was destroyed by a fire in the early 1900s. At the end of the walk you can explore the little wooded area and old Menlo Graveyard.
