Maumturk Mountains

The Maumturk mountains run from Maam Cross in the South to Leenaun in the North and stretch for 32 km. The walk travels along the central ridge of the mountains and is a tough walk. There are a number of peaks to climb and the terrain is of an advanced level. The walk requires specialist mountain gear, and the following should be brought, first aid kit, whistle, and spare clothes. Appropriate clothing should be worn to allow for the cold and wet. The walk should take just over 7 hours. You can also take in St. Patricks Bed & Well along the way.
