Contact Information

The Galway Lock Keepers House is located across the bridge at Dominick Street. The bridge was previously known as Balls Bridge and was operated by the Lock Keeper at the time. The house is a wonderful example of mid-nineteenth century architecture and stonework. It was from here the Lock Keeper controlled the Eglington Canal, opening the Lock Gates and collecting the tolls from the boats who wished to use the canal.
