Galway City Poetry Trail - University Road

As part of Galway City Council's programme to celebrate literature publicly in the city a plaque was unveiled in conjunction with Cuirt at the Children's Millennium Park on University Road to honour Roger McGough with his poem Uncle Philip. Paraic Breathnach performed the official unveiling along with Tom Matthews whose cartoons feature with the poem. Roger McGough (born 9 November 1937) is an English poet, performance poet, broadcaster, children's author and playwright. He presents the BBC Radio 4 programme Poetry Please, as well as performing his own poetry.
