Ireland is in store for summer sun this weekend with highs of 28 degrees
Temperatures could hit as high as 28 Celsius over the weekend as the country basks in summer sunshine, according to Met Éireann.
Meteorologist Gerry Murphy said there would be good sunshine, with temperatures rising over the coming days.
Speaking on RTÉ's Morning Ireland, Mr Murphy said the best of the weather will be over the weekend and, while early next week will be warm, showers and cooler conditions will prevail from the middle of the week onwards.
He said Ireland will be under the influence of the Azores High, which contains tropical warm air.
The high temperatures could result in some uncomfortable conditions at night time, when temperatures could remain at 17 Celsius.
