A new analysis by economic consultancy firm InterVistas commissioned by airport operator DAA has found that the volume and range of connections at Dublin airport has increased by 59% within the last five years.
 
Lower growth rates were recorded over the same time frame for other major Western European airports. These included 22% at London Heathrow, 24% at Frankfurt and 42% at Amsterdam airport.
 
The research on the economic impact of Dublin airport by InterVistas also found that it supports nearly 300,000 jobs and contributes almost €10 billion euro to the Irish economy. 
Managing Director of Dublin Airport Vincent Harrison said “Dublin Airport plays a vital role in the Irish economy, as it is Ireland’s main gateway to the world. The connectivity that it provides underpins Irish tourism and trade, and also helps enable continued investments in foreign direct investment (FDI) in the Irish economy.” &nbsp;
