Bachelor's Walk is the site of Dillon's auction house in James Joyce' Ulysses, where protagonist Leopold Bloom sees the character of Diddy Dedalus and presumes she has been trying to sell her poor family's possessions. Bachelor's Walk was home to several auction houses in the early 20th century now all closed.
