Spike Island was the largest convict depot in the world in Victorian times and today the old prison ( for 2,300 prisoners) is open for visitors. Take the scenic ferry ride from Kennedy Pier, Cobh and enjoy a fully guided tour of the island and Fort Mitchel Prison. In 2017 Spike was awarded the accolade of Europe’s Leading Tourist Attraction!
