William has over 40 years experience working as a master butcher in the meat industry where he has gained a passion for the art of butchery and consistently delivers excellent, fresh, high quality products to our customers. Their meat is sourced, slaughtered and prepared in East Cork meaning their Food Miles are very low, resulting in a lower carbon footprint and reduced animal stress resulting in a higher quality product. Sourcing their meat locally is very important to them because their meat is fully traceable meaning they can tell you exactly where it came from, when it was slaughtered and by whom. Their Lamb and Beef are a family affair - sourced from Willie’s brother, John O’Brien, from his farm in Cloyne. The animals are fed barley that is grown on the farm and they are also grass-fed, where they can freely roam across 100 acres of land. Their chicken and pork products are supplied by Cormac O’Connor & Sons. O’Briens Butchers is part of the Craft Butchers Association. Being a craft butcher means having the best, traceable, traditionally prepared meat available.
